5 days tradclimbing course

This 5-day trad climbing course in Lofoten is designed for those who want to become safer and more independent climbers.

Over five days, you’ll receive a thorough introduction to climbing with traditional protection, rope systems and multi-pitch climbing.

The course takes place mainly on the cliffs and mountains around Henningsvær and Kalle – an area famous for its excellent granite, classic climbing routes and some of the finest rock climbing in Norway.

We spend a lot of time actually climbing. The goal is not only to learn techniques, but to gain experience applying them in real situations on the rock.

Throughout the course, we work with climbing technique, placing and assessing traditional protection, building anchors, rope systems, rappelling and moving efficiently on multi-pitch routes. We also focus on route selection, communication and making good decisions while climbing.

The content and progression are adapted to the group’s experience, level and goals. As the course progresses, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility and practise making your own decisions under the supervision of your instructor.

After five days, our goal is for you to leave with plenty of climbing experience, a deeper understanding of trad climbing and a solid foundation for continuing your development as an independent climber.
