Daytime kayaking

Experience the magic of a kayaking adventure in Lofoten. Paddle out from the north side of Austvågøya into Gimsøystraumen, where the horizon opens to the wild and raw north side of the islands.

Feel as though you are sitting on top of the ocean, giving you a truly immersive sensation. The sea stretches from under the kayak, daytime in a winter landscape. Now in winter the weather changes meaning we choose safer routes along the coast. But there are still days with absolutely still weather where you can see the sun. You may encounter seabirds such as eider ducks, cormorants, gulls and perhaps even sea eagles. In addition, you may be lucky enough to encounter sea animals such as porpoises (a small whale), seals, otters and mink.

Kayaking gives a strong feeling of freedom. With your own muscle power, you move quickly and silently through nature. You get to where you want to go and there is no bay or island you cannot explore by kayak, however shallow. On a guided kayak trip with us, you need no prior skill or knowledge to join. But I appreciate hearing a little bit in advance about your capability to decide the destination. Also expect me to get in touch with you so we can together navigate fitting weather windows with daylight windows. Daylight is very short these days.
