Search for the Northern Lights in Lofoten together with a photographer

Join us in search of one of the planet's most amazing and fleeting natural phenomena - the northern lights.

Lofoten is located just below the auroral oval, which provides the best conditions for seeing the Northern Lights. As soon as it gets dark, the Northern Lights can become visible, provided it is not cloudy. In cloudy weather, we will do our best to find an area with clear skies. The main season for the Northern Lights is between September and April. Our trips mainly go to the north side of Lofoten, where the absence of artificial light and a long horizon to the north provide the best conditions for seeing the Northern Lights.

The tour is suitable for anyone who wants to see and experience the Northern Lights. Along the way, you will get to know the places we pass and what it is like to live in Lofoten.

Taking pictures of the Northern Lights can be challenging, but our guide can give you all the tips. The guide will take your own photos and send them to you after your trip, but can also show you how to take your own Northern Lights photos.

Additional information

It is not possible to guarantee Northern Lights, but we do guarantee we will do our very best to find them. In case of bad weather conditions the tour might be cancelled. If so you will get a full refund, or the possibility to rebook for another day. We will contact you one hour before departure if conditions are adverse. We advise all our guests to plan the trip early during their stay so you can change dates if necessary.

There is a maximum of 7 participants on the tour, which ensures you personal attention on the tour in a safe environment.

If you are staying at a hotel in Svolvær, we are happy to pick you up if you let us know when booking the tour.

Clothing:

Remember to dress warm with many layers as waiting and chasing for the lights outdoors is a part of the trip. Solid shoes with thick sole is very much recommended to bring.
